First offered in 1991, the CompuSire Auctions database now contains five years of major auction results through January 1996. Whether you buy or sell at auction, CompuSire auctions is an invaluable tool.
This module runs under the CompuSire main module, so, if you already have CompuSire, all you need is the database, which includes all Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton Kentucky, Saratoga Summer, and OBS August sales of yearlings, weanlings, in-foal mares, and broodmare prospects. More comprehensive auction information resources are available, but none are more useful for the specific purposes for which CompuSire Auctions is designed.
CompuSire Auctions is designed for the breeder or buyer with intentions towards the major commercial market. If you're in that market, then you will want to base your expectations on the information pertaining to that market. If you're planning to buy yearlings at the September sales, it will be important to you to know a stallion's record at that level.
Not only can you get results for the entire period from July 1991 through January 1996, but you can also get results for any period during that time. This means that you can spot trends. The database includes sale, hip number, dam's name (name of the mare in the case of broodmare prospects), sire (covering sire for in-foal mares), and price.

  • Auction histories for broodmares can be shown on the screen and printed in a useful, easy-to-read format.

  • Sire summaries are instantaneously generated to displya a sire's average price, median price, aggregate, and a consistency analysis that shows you how many of a sire's yearlings, weanlings, or in-foal mares sold at various levels relative to the average. You can select sire summaries for yearlings, yearling colts, yearling fillies, weanlings, weanling colts, weanling fillies, and in-foal mares for the entire period or for a given year or years. Printed reports list individual members of the group selected, along with the summary and consistency analysis.

  • Quick look-up feature enables ou to check the price of an individual entry in a particular sale.

  • Browse a sale by simply selecting the sale and scrolling through it in hip number order.

CompuSire Auctions is the best little computerized auction research tool available, and no commercial breeder, pinhooker, agent, buyer, or seller should be without it.
